On dropping my mother off at the movies….

May 5, 2013 by kmwelden

Jessica: “Wow, Ms. Lynn, do you know what this feels like?”

Mom: “No….”

Jessica: “It feels like we’re your parents dropping you off on a date at the movie theater. Like in middle school at the old mall.”

Mom: “No, I never dropped my kids off at the movie theater. They stayed home on Friday nights.”

(this is true. Until we were practically 18)

Jessica: “Oh, well my mom dropped me off every Friday night and I always made out with boys.”

Mom (concerned sounding): “Well… this is nothing like that. We’re just hanging out.”

Jessica: “Oh, I know what that word means.”
